Guitar tailored to you

I’m Andy — a professional guitar tutor and the founder of Launchpad Guitar.

I’ve been playing guitar for over 27 years and teaching professionally for more than 15. My background is rooted in both performance and education, having studied music for six years after school, including a BA in Music from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP).

Early in my career, I worked as a session musician, performing for artists at festivals such as Glastonbury, touring in the United States, and playing live shows for a range of artists across London. Those experiences shaped how I understand music in real-world settings — not just theory, but how music actually works on stage and in practice.

Alongside performance, teaching has always been at the heart of what I do. I now focus primarily on guitar tuition, working with students of all ages and levels both privately and in a London secondary school. I also run a small YouTube channel where I share educational guitar content and gear reviews.

My teaching style is structured, supportive and goal-focused. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to guitar after a break, or working towards graded music exams, my aim is to give you clear direction, effective practice strategies and the confidence to keep progressing.

Launchpad Guitar was created to provide a clear starting point — and a clear pathway forward — for anyone serious about learning guitar properly, without confusion or wasted time.

Alongside teaching, I record and play guitar regularly. These short clips give an insight into the level of musicianship and experience I bring into the lessons.
